How To Stay In Bali For Up To 180 Days

The Multiple Entry Visit Visa is valid for 1 year and lets you stay in Bali, Indonesia for up to 180 days – all you have to do is extend your stay when you reach 60 days in Bali with a visit to the Bali Immigration Department. You can do this twice – after which, once you’re 180 days are up, you will have to leave Indonesia for a few days. Consider it a holiday or a visa run!

For all of the above, you can apply for the Bali Multiple Entry Visit Visa with a validity of 1 to 5 years.

Other reasons to apply for a D1 or D2 Bali Multiple Entry Visa are:

  • Undergoing medical treatment
  • Producing a foreign film
  • Activities related to auditing, quality control, or company/site inspections

Working in Bali With A Multiple Entry Visit Visa

Please remember that you are not allowed to work with an Indonesian or an Indonesian-established company while you’re on a Bali Multiple Entry Visit Business or Tourism visa.

Important Things To Know About The Bali Multiple Entry Visit Visa

You must:

  • Comply with local laws and regulations
  • Respect local customs, culture, and wisdom
  • Have sufficient living expenses while in Indonesia

Other Important Information

  • Staying in Indonesia over the period of your stay permit, engaging in prohibited activities, not complying with visa conditions, and/or not complying with Indonesian laws may result in you paying fines, being deported, and/or other legal charges
  • You are prohibited from selling goods or services
  • You are prohibited from working in an employment relationship with an individual or corporation in Indonesia

Documents Required

        Passport with a validity of at least 6 (six) months.

        Proof of living expenses of at least US$ 2,000 (two thousand United States Dollars) or equivalent.

        A recent colour photograph.

Any of the following documents:

Information, invitations, or correspondence from government agencies or private institutions that explains the relationship with the Applicant.


Statement letter from spouse or parents explaining the family relationship with the applicant and the activities to be carried out in Indonesia, attached with a family card / similar document.
