Are you getting ready for an exciting trip to Bali? Before you go, it’s important to know about the visa options available to you. If you’re from one of over 169 eligible countries, there are two types of short-term visas you can choose from:

Visa-Free Entry

Citizens of certain ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) can enter Indonesia for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism, business, family visits, and more. This entry option is non-extendable. This is in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 95 of 2024, which outlines the free-entry policy.

Visa on Arrival

Citizens of 169 countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, and various EU nations, can enter Indonesia through the VoA program for an initial 30 days, which can be extended once for another 30 days. This applies to activities such as tourism, business talks, meetings, and transit.

What is Visa on Arrival?

The Visa on Arrival (VOA) is a type of visa you can get right at the airport when you arrive in Bali. It’s perfect for short-term stays and lets you stay for 30 days. If you’re not ready to leave after 30 days, don’t worry—you can extend it for another 30 days without any hassle.
  • Stay Duration: 30 days (with a one-time 30-day extension).
  • Purpose: For tourists, family visits, or short business trips.
  • Cost: IDR 850,000 (about USD 60) at the airport or online.
  • Extension: Available for another 30 days.

How to Get Your Visa on Arrival in Bali

It’s super easy to get your Visa on Arrival when you land at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Arrive at the airport and head to the VOA counter.
  2. Pay the visa fee (IDR 850,000 / USD 53).
  3. Show your passport and return ticket.
  4. Get your visa stamp, and you’re ready to enjoy Bali!

How to Extend Your Visa on Arrival

Loving Bali so much that you want to stay longer? You can extend your Visa on Arrival for another 30 days. You just need to apply for the extension before your 30 days are up.

How to Extend:

  1. Visit the local immigration office or use MPG Visa Services (so you don’t have to worry about paperwork).
  2. Submit your passport and pay the extension fee (IDR 850,000).
  3. Your extension is processed in 3-7 days, and you’re good to go!

Don’t Overstay!

It is important to avoid overstaying your visa in Indonesia. The penalty for overstaying is IDR 1,000,000 (USD 65) per day. If you overstay for an extended period, you may face more severe penalties, including possible deportation or a ban on re-entry.
