This visa allows you to enjoy five years of residency in Indonesia, with the possibility of indefinite extension after that period. We’re here to simplify the application process so you can concentrate on embracing new opportunities and experiences in Indonesia.
What is kitap visa
The KITAP (Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap) is a permanent stay visa in Indonesia, allowing foreigners to reside in the country for five years. After this initial period, the KITAP can be renewed indefinitely, provided holders report to the Immigration Office every five years. To be eligible for a KITAP, applicants must first possess a KITAS (temporary stay visa). This visa is available for various categories, including professionals, investors, retirees, and family members of Indonesian citizens.
Upon receiving the KITAP, holders are granted a two-year multiple exit-re-entry permit, enabling them to travel in and out of Indonesia. If they plan to continue this practice, they must renew the permit at their local Immigration Office. It’s important to note that the KITAP will be terminated if the holder leaves Indonesia for more than one year or if they exceed the validity period of their KITAP and re-entry permit.
What Are the Benefits of the KITAP Visa?
- Long-Term Residency: The KITAP Visa is valid for five years and can be renewed indefinitely after that, subject to immigration requirements.
- Multiple Exit-Re-entry Permits: Upon initial approval, the KITAP holder receives a two-year multiple exit-re-entry permit, allowing for travel in and out of Indonesia.
- Family Inclusion: Spouses and children of KITAP holders can apply for a KITAP at any time.
Who is applicable for the KITAP Visa?
The KITAP Visa Bali is restricted to specific groups, ensuring that only qualified individuals can apply. The six main categories eligible for a KITAP include:
Professional Foreign Workers: Applicants must have held a Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) for at least five continuous years under the same sponsor. Eligible foreign workers include:
- Investors who own a minimum of IDR 1 billion in an Indonesian PMA company.
- Senior managers of large Indonesian PT companies.
- Official religious representatives working for recognized religions in Indonesia.
Spouses and Children of Foreign KITAP Holders: Foreign spouses and children of individuals holding a KITAP can apply for their own KITAP at any time, provided the children are under 18 years of age.
Spouses of Indonesian Citizens: To qualify, foreign spouses must be married to an Indonesian citizen for at least two years and must have held a KITAS for a minimum of one year, with the Indonesian spouse acting as the sponsor.
Former Subjects with Dual Citizenship: Children who have dual citizenship of Indonesia can apply for a KITAP before turning 21 and must be unmarried.
Former Indonesians Seeking Repatriation: Those who previously held Indonesian citizenship and wish to regain it can apply for a KITAP after holding a KITAS sponsored by a close Indonesian family member.
Foreigners on Retirement Visa: Eligible retirees can also apply for a KITAP, subject to specific requirements related to their retirement status.
These categories ensure that the KITAP Visa is accessible to individuals who have established ties to Indonesia or meet particular residency criteria, facilitating a smoother transition for long-term living in the country.
