Bali has introduced a brand new International Tourism Tax of IDR 150,000 effective February 14, 2024.
The announcement was made in September 2023 by the Balinese authorities, who stated that the fee would be put towards sustainable tourism development and cultural preservation.
The government also stated that the measure is aimed at ensuring long-term sustainability for the island’s unique ecosystem, cultural heritage, and infrastructure while enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Levy Details:
- Amount: IDR 150,000 (approximately USD 10)
- Applicability: All international visitors entering Bali
- Effective Date: February 14, 2024
- Payment Options: Convenient online payment via the Love Bali website or app
Payment can easily be made online through the dedicated Love Bali website or app before you arrive in Bali. Simply the Love Bali app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or visit lovebali.baliprov.go.id. Enter your details and choose your payment method. Payment can also be made at the airport upon arrival.
Once paid, a tourism levy voucher will be sent to your email address – don’t forget to screenshot the receipt/voucher for scanning at various checkpoints throughout the Bali airport or seaport.
The fee is only applicable for tourists – those holding non-tourist visas are exempt. This includes diplomatic and official visa holders, conveyance crew, KITAS and KITAP holders, and those holding family unification visas, golden and student visas, as well as specific non-tourist visa holders.
Remember that to qualify for the exemption, applications must be submitted at least one month before you arrive in Bali.
